Food values are your companies beliefs and philosophies on food and the food supply chain, collectively they are what your company stands for.
They influence the perception of the company and the brand image.
They provide your product developers with the guard rails for product design.
They provide direction for ingredient sourcing.
These may evolve over time as new trends and learning’s emerge and you look to align to consumer needs.
No matter what size a company is, it’s worth taking time out to specify your food values. They are more than a list of words e.g. natural, sustainable, functional, clean label. You need to get behind each of these words and clearly articulate what they mean for your business.
